There was a heavy security presence in Kilgoris town in Narok County after deputy president William Ruto and his allies made their way into the densely populated town. It was a historic moment since some leaders from other parties openly joined his party promising to support his 2022 bid and his government in 2022.
Ruto who was accompanied by over 10 legislators could be seen enjoying the reception as he interacted freely with the area resident who turned up in large numbers to listen to his agenda for the region which had for long been under the opposition.
Ruto has been in the area for close to three days launching several empowerment projects and also meeting leaders from the region allied to his party. His clarion call is that of change and empowering the small-scale traders in the economic chain. So far he has managed to traverse several counties across the nation.
