In Kenya, there are two main types of elections: the general elections which takes place after every five years on the eight month, the second Tuesday and the by-elections which are any other election carried outside the general elections date.
Today the independent electoral and boundaries commission has held several by-elections in the country. It has happened in Garissa Town constituency to replace Aden Duale who got appointed as the cabinet secretary for Defence, in Elgeiyo Marakwet to get a replacent for transport cs Kipchumba Murkomen, in Kandara constituency to get Alice Wahome's successor, in Bungoma to replace Wetangula and in Utawala ward.
Utawala ward is found in Embakasi East constituency where Babu Owino is the area member of parliament. Babu Owino has now taken to socio media to celebrate the win of Patrick Karani of Azimio who according to him has beaten UDA candidate senselessly, he adds that Embakasi East has won big time.
