During the last general elections on 9th August 2022, Kenyans elected William Samoei Ruto as the fifth president of Kenya and former Mathira member of parliament Rigathi Gachagua became the deputy president of Kenya, the two took over the leadership of thr country on 13th September 2022 at Kasarani stadium.
The second in command has been among leaders who joined the president to celebrate his birthday, which has been celebrated differently by planting of trees, it is one of the programs the new government has began to attract rainfall in the country, the plant cover in the country has reduced leading to drought.
Rigathi Gachagua has left the attendees laughing after he took to speak, he told environment cabinet secretary Soipan Tuya that he will teach her on how to speak the truth, Gachagua told her that the speech she gave are not brief as she said after finishing her remarks, this has left those present at the event laughing.
