Speaking to renowned journalist Julius Sigei, a former editor at the Nation, Ochieng described the former Prime Minister as a 'tragic hero with a tragic flaw', who inherited many traits and attributes from his father Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
The journalist from Awendo in Migori said it was unwise of Raila to allow his supporters to disrupt businesses belonging to Kikuyus by holding demonstrations particularly in Nairobi when he was seeking the support of the community.

The man who succumbed to pneumonia on Tuesday said the ODM boss should be very strict and instill discipline on his backers whom he opined were also a cause of his downfall.
"How can he allow ragamuffins to do things in his name? He is the leader. He must teach them or cane them," the 'Fifth Columnist' said.
"How can you be courting the Kikuyu, for instance, then allow ragamuffins to disrupt their businesses?" Ochieng posed as Sigei wrote of Saturday Standard.
In the four attempts Raila has made on the presidency, the Kikuyu community, the biggest ethnic group in Kenya, has never rallied behind him.
However, since his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta, a number of influential personalities from Mt Kenya have endorsed him for the top job.

Former Gatanga MPs David Murathe and Peter Kenneth, as well as billionaire businessman SK Macharia and Kikuyu Council of Elders have said they will back the former Primier to succeed Uhuru.
