This year Madaraka day celebrations will be held at Embu county in Mount Kenya East region.
Preparations for the national celebrations have already started five months to the fete scheduled 1st June every year.
Today several principal secretaries from various state departments of the national government led by interior and national coordination principal secretary Raymond Omollo toured Embu county for a fact finding mission.
The national government delegation was warmly received by host Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire and other senior county government officials.

Earlier in the day Governor Cecily Mbarire convened a brief caucus of the county executive committee members, chief officers and a cross- section of Technical staff to receive progress on the preparedness for the upcoming Madaraka celebrations in the county.
