ODM leader Raila Odinga visited his backyard yesterday Friday 21st January 2022. He used the opportunity to popularize his Azimio Movement and his presidential bid to inherit President Uhuru Kenyatta. He pledged that if given the chance, he will continue with the good work Uhuru has done.
However, he unleashed his anger on his residents who have not registered as voters. He slammed the youth who are eligible and have not taken their voter cards. He threatened to drop his presidential aspiration if the region will not attain the targeted number. He compared it to what is happening in other regions that have taken the issue seriously. He said his main competitors have ensured their supporters have done the exercise well. This was seen to be directed to William Ruto who is his main competitor. In the last voter registration, Ruto's stronghold regions had registered more members than Raila's regions.
He then surprised many by telling parents to deny food for their youth who do not register as voters. This has caused a hilarious talk on social media platforms. He also continued to insist that he will be giving out 6,000 shillings to the poor citizens. He will also introduce Baba Care which is aimed at providing accessible health care to all Kenyan citizens.
