Vocal Nyanza leader has faulted Deputy President William Ruto over his running mate selection. This comes a day after Kenya Kwanza via DP Ruto announced that they have settled for Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate come the 2022 general elections
However for Homabay Town MP Peter Kaluma who is a close associate of Raila Odinga, he has termed this as a big joke by Ruto to pick Gachagua. Kaluma has it that Ruto could have gone for a candidate who is learned and who has no integrity issues. Kaluma has further alleged that Gachagua lacks leadership skills that a DP needs since his highest ever appointment was a DO
"DP Ruto had better options for a potential deputy president, it was a joke picking Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate. Rigathi’s highest appointment was a District Officer. He never moved beyond being a DO and he has integrity issue," Homabay Town MP has declared
