Nelly Cheboi has finally revealed the amount of money Raila Odinga gave her that facilitated her travel to US. A report that has sparked alot of reactions from people across the country.
The 2022 CNN hero of the year, Nelly Cheboi, upcycles old computers to open new world for young Kenyans. After growing up in poverty in Kenya, she found her passion in computer science. Since 2018, she dedicated herself to bringing technology skills, education and opportunities to kids in the country.
CNN hero Nelly Cheboi revealed that the former prime minister Raila Odinga gave her Shs 300000 to facilitate her travel to US.
"I went to Mary Hill Girls High School in Thika where I scored an A plain in my Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education. I was to travel to US for my scholarship. I had a deadline of two weeks. My area member of parliament organised my passport but I was stuck, I had no visa nor air ticket until I met Raila Odinga who gave me 300,000 Kenyan shillings." Nelly Cheboi revealed.
