According to an update by the cabinet secretary in charge of information communication technology Eliud Owallo, he today presided over a meeting that was attended by top journalist from the media Owners Association. The meeting coming at a time when the Kenyan media has been faced with numerous challenge including lack of financial support leading to the firing of top journalists from different organisations.
Among those in attendance was a top journalist from Royal media services Linus kaikai who has been making headlines a few weeks ago after being accused of being a supporter of raila odinga during the August election.
Several other chief executive officers of different Media houses were also present where the cabinet secretary challenge them to ensure that ethics is upheld during this period and as they continue to serve Kenyans.
He further reiterated that his ministry will continue to hold such kind meetings to ensure that the media which is the Fourth Estate continue to have a voice in the society as opposed to earlier claims that the government is planning to get them.
