IEBC Commissioner Irene Masit Reveals Next Move Amidst Pressure to Resign

The IEBC commissioner Irene Masit has made it clear through her lawyer Donald Kipkorir that anyone waiting for her resignation is wasting their time. She has made it clear that she would not resign because she upholds the law and is an honest person.

Irene Masit has explicitly indicated that she is ready to appear before the tribunal that President Ruto purportedly constituted. Masit asserts that she is focusing on supporting her position because she won't let anyone, not even the president, dictate to her.

She won't quit despite the fact that three of the four IEBC commissioners who were under scrutiny did so. Irene Masit is willing to appear before the tribunal to deny the media's assertions that she committed treason on August 9 during the elections. She is free to disclose who paid the Serena hotel's expenses to the tribunal during their news conference.

Irene Masit asserts that the IEBC Commission as a whole, and not just her, will collapse because she must preserve democracy. Masit believes that the results of the presidential election on August 9th were not accurate and verifiable. Masit has vowed not to recognize Ruto as president due to his concerns with legitimacy.
