DP William Ruto Holds a High Profile Meeting on Tuesday Where the Following Was Agreed Upon

Deputy president William Ruto has disclosed that ODM, Jubilee, UDA and KANU leaders have agreed to endorse the candidature of Abdul Yusuf Hajji in the upcoming by-elections.

This comes after he met the leaders drawn from the wider Garissa county on Tuesday at his official Karen residence in Nairobi.

Among other issues discussed is his hustler nation empowerment programmes which will be resumed when the spread of the novel Corona virus pandemic has been mitigated in the country.

"Met Members of Garissa County Assembly from Jubilee, ODM, UDA and KANU at the Karen Office, Nairobi County. Discussed empowerment programmes for the Hustler Nation and agreed to back Abdul Yusuf Haji for Garissa Senator in the upcoming by-election."Deputy President William Ruto

Deputy president William Ruto has disclosed that he is happy that the leaders had showed a lot of willingness to support one of their own in order to advance economic development in their region.

This is a great achievement to the family of the late senator Yusuf Hajji with all likelihood showing that he might not be having any competitors in the Garissa county senatorial by-elections.

"Leaders should combine efforts and commit to confronting the challenges facing millions of households in the country. Rather than engaging in divisive politics, they should be visionary and embrace inclusive and broad-based interventions in the economy that will uplift the poor."

The family of the late Yusuf Hajji endorsed Abdul Hajji where in a statement after deliberations they fronted the second-born son to finish his late father’s second-term in the Senate.

Deputy president William Ruto's latest move also adds weight to the family which might see the race to the Senate be one horse race since no other candidate has showed interest so far.
