The 2022 presidential battle is expected to be a two-horse race between the current Deputy President William Ruto and Odm leader Raila Odinga.

The two leaders have been identified as the leading candidates in the race which also includes Anc leader Musalia Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka of the Wiper party. The likes of Kivutha Kibwana, William Kabogo, Gideon Moi, and Moses Wetangula have also expressed interest in the top job.

Raila has been championing for unity through the Azimio la Umoja initiative which looks to bring Kenyans together ahead of the highly anticipated 2022 general elections. The Deputy President has been vouching for a change in the country's economic model. He is pushing for the adoption of the bottom-up economic model in place of trickle-down economics.

Earlier today Makueni County Governor Kivutha Kibwana announced that he has decided to drop his presidential bid and back ODM leader Raila Odinga. According to Kivutha, he decided after he consulted with the elders from Makueni county during a meeting that was held on Thursday last week.

He has revealed that he is planning to launch his presidential bid after Raila has served his term. He was speaking during the meeting in Naivasha.

Meanwhile, share with us your thoughts on the matter kindly.
