Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati (WWW) on Tuesday hosted rare guests in the frame of United Kingdom (UK) Deputy High Commissioner Julius Court and Devolution Cabinet Secretary (CS) Eugene Ludovic Wamalwa.
The two, among other dignitaries were in Bungoma for bilateral talks at the Governor's office. Julius Court attended the event on behalf of UK Ambassador to Kenya Jane Marriott.
Before inviting him to speak, the governor opened up a little bit about his family and his late dad. "My dad, the late Mzee Patrick Wangamati, among the kids I am number 14. So you can understand that I come from a very large family," he said.
When he rose to speak, CS Wamalwa who was seated next to the Deputy High Commissioner said he was shocked when the governor said that he was child number one, since polygamy is not common in UK.
"When he heard that our governor is child number 14 of Mzee Wangamati, he was very shocked because polygamy is not very common in the UK."
The CS said that in his family, he is child number 12.
