Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chief Executive Officer Ezra Chiloba, who is the Current Communication Authority director General, was forced to run for his life on Wednesday, 15th March 2023 when he was officiating the celebration to mark world consumer’s rights day at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga sports complex which is situated within the CBD.
The Demonstrating Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition supporters had just left the county commissioner's office where they gave him a memo. They then got a wind that Information Communications and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo was attending an event at the grounds.

Upon noticing this, the former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chief Executive Officer who was at the time addressing a press was forced to cut short his address and immediately boarded his car. He then left the venue as the Protestors entered, luckily, they never noticed him.
They were heard shouting Owalo's name as they stormed the venue of the event. They did not however found him. Still they went ahead and disrupted the event forcing the organizers and even the attendees to flee.
The protest was part of those which are going on across the country in readiness for the main one that will be taking place on March 20th as per the announcement made by the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition party boss former prime minister Raila Odinga.
The Protests are against the high cost of living in the country which the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition party argue that Ruto has been defeated to sort out completely.
