10 Most Expensive Dogs You Cannot Imagine

1.) The Afghan Hound. It was first bred thousand of years ago by nomadic people of Afghanistan and Pakistan in northern India. The dog was used as a hunter for animals such as antelopes. Today the dog costs 7,000 dollars. Also ,the costs if food alongside health bills of this breed can easily add up as they are predisposed to cataracts and hyperthyroidism and treating either condition can cost you upto 3,000 dollars or more.

2.) The Pharaoh Hound. This dog can be dated back to around 3,000 BC. This dog is a mascular athletic breed with graceful stride. Its original purpose was for hunting by the use of its high sight , sound and smell. It costs 7,500 dollars.

3.) The Dogo Argentina. This type of dogs are one of the most masculine dogs in the world and can be very aggressive most of the time. They cost 8,000 dollars and have a lifespan of 9-15 years. Their main health issue is deafness, dysplasia, hyperthyroidism glaucoma and laryngeal paralysis. This makes maintainance of this dog quite expensive.

4.) The Canadian Eskimo dog. This is one of the rarest breed in the world, and is currently facing extinction with less than 300 dogs remaining as of 2018. They are rare to come by and expensive as puppies cost 8,500 dollars each. This breed is however prone to gastric tursion as well as entropion, heat intolerance and arthritis causing its maintenance to be high.

5.) The Rottweiler. They cost 1,500 dollars as a puppy. They become big mascular dogs but they are susceptible to every single dog diseases. They are particularly susceptible to hip and joint problems which is why their pet insurance claims are the highest among any other dog breeds. Pet owners can pay 300 dollars on their pet insurance and even more for a claim.

6.) The Azawakh. This breed originated from west Africa and were mainly used as hunting dogs. It costs around 9,500 dollars. This particular dog has a combination of honesty, loyalty and independence and is usually used as a family household pet and also as therapy dogs in nursing homes and rehabilitation centres.

7.) The Tibetan Mastiff. They cost around 10,000 dollars a puppy. The mastiff can reach more than 150 pounds for grown mates. This dogs are protective in nature and respond well to routine and respond aggressively to discord. They were initially used as guardians and protectors in ancient times.

8.)The chow chow. They originate from northern China. The costs to own this dog including bills for food, vetenary bills, grooming and health issues can total up to 11,000 dollars for their lifetime. This breed needs plenty of socialization including exposure to children. They also need daily grooming to keep them free from tangles,dirt and debris.

9.) The Samoyed. This dog costs around 14,000 dollars. They are brilliant , social and mischievous dogs that always demand attention, making them perfect for families and children. However, they are prone to expensive health issues such as corneal dystrophy, autoimmune conditions and cardiac disorders that can amount to around 5,000 dollars.

10.) The Neapolitan Mastiff. Costs 8,500 dollars per puppy. This dog breed is a gentle giant that makes an excellent family pet. This dog are wary of strangers and have fearless and protective attitude. They are low in maintenance but suffer mostly from cherry eye, which causes tissues in the eye to become red and inflamed. They also suffer from bloat, which is a life threatening condition that affects deep chest dogs.
