As the old adage says, 'every dog has it own day', this phrase is well understood by one pokot presiding officer after he was nabbed red handed amidst a controversial ploy.
Following a statement made by The Office of the Director of Public prosecution, Makal Benjamin an Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission official attached to Alale ward was arrested by local authorities on Wednesday following election malpractice when he was intercepted altering the presidential ballot papers.
"Kachelliba Constituency, West Pokot presiding officer was arrested and detained in Kachelliba police station for allegedly altering presidential results from Alale ward. The ODPP is following up the matter," said the ODPP.
This comes a few hours after a Mombasa-based presiding officer alongside his deputy were arrested for sabotaging counting votes.
The duo were reported to local authorities by the constituency returning officer after intercepting their controversial acts.
Meanwhile, as of Wednasday, 1800hrs, two presiding officers have allegedly found themselves in the wrong side of the law. They are all currently being withheld at different police stations, pending their arraignment in court.
