In case you enter some digits wrongly and end up send money to a wrong number, don't panic. Immediately you have sent the money, Safaricom gives you 27 second to confirm the name and number of the receiver, to offer you a chance of canceling the transaction in case the details of the recipient are unfamiliar to you.
Incase you notice that you have sent the money to a Wrong number after some minutes of hours, copy the SMS you received from Mpesa and forward it to the number 456. By doing this Safaricom will mute the money in such a way that it can't be used or withdrawn.
Safaricom customer care will then call the owner of the number to confirm whether he or she has received the money and request him or her to reverse it. If they refuse to resend, Safaricom will withdraw the money from their account and resend it to you.
It's advisable to always confirm the phone number before you send money because, if it's withdrawn or used before you take an action, it will be lost forever and there is northing that you will be able do about it.
