China for a long time has become and continue to be the biggest lender to African countries. The loans received by African countries continue to raise eyebrows amid reports of poor accountability and the loans high interests. This has therefore led to these countries remaining being indebted to the Asian Nation.
China facilitated Kenya's Standard Gauge Railway [SGR] project among others and this has since then led to increasing debate on the worrying high loan debt tagged after completion of the project. Here are the top 10 African beneficiaries of Chinese Loans.
Kenya is ranked at position three with about Ksh.800 billion loan debt owed to China and is believed to have hiked greatly during President Uhuru Kenyatta's regime.
The 10th in the list is the Democratic Republic of Congo [DRC] whose loan from China is approximately Ksh.340 Billions.
