The government of Kenya under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta has tirelessly worked hard to ensure that the Kenyans receive equal treatment in all sectors. Most of the Kenyans have been greatly affected by the covid- 19 pandemic and are struggling financially to sustain their families. The majority of Kenyans lost jobs and their business was affected by the pandemic. In addition to that, some families lost their breadwinners.
The widows and the poor people in our country have been going through a hard time both financially and physically especially since the first case of coronavirus was announced in the country. However, the widows can have something to smile about after the national government offered to support them financially. According to the Kenyan.co.ke website the national government has set aside million's of money to enable the widows to access loans easily and use them to improve living standards. They can use the loans to pay their bills and open small businesses which generate little income for their families.
According to the source, widows applying for loans in any governmental institution will qualify for a loan between a hundred thousand to one million Kenyan shillings ( 100,000 to 1,000,000). The repayment period will be extended up to 30 months( two years and six months).
The national government has advised all widows who are struggling financially to apply for loans starting from a hundred thousand Kenya shillings which will be repayable within 30 months. This is a lot of time for persons who are well organized. They can utilize the loan well and generate more profits and pay the loans before the due days.
