The government through the permanent secretary for the State department of social protection Nelson Marwa has announced good news to over one million kenyans all over the country.

As multiple media reports indicate, the government has announced disbursement of over Ksh 7billion to various categories of kenyans under the Inua Jamii program who are at more risk to financial constraints.

The cash transfer is for the orphans and vulnerable children (CT-OVC), the elderly kenyans and those living with disabilities among other vulnerable groups. The payment is consolidated to last for a period of four months: March, April, May and June that had not bee paid.

"GOVT releases Sh8.75b to 1.1m Inua Jamii beneficiaries for March-June 2021; payments to start on Monday, says PS Marwa," Capital FM reports.

The Government usually sends Ksh 2,000 per month to every beneficiary with the accumulated payment of four months totalling Ksh 8,000 that they will receive starting from Monday.

This is good news to these vulnerable kenyans who had gone for months without receiving their pay.
