While chewing, keep your mouth shut.
We've all been told to eat with our lips shut as children. And, thank God, that's the case. There are few things more repulsive than someone chewing their food while eating (or, even worse, talking!). It is completely normal for children to eat with their lips open without even realizing it. However, it is critical to begin teaching our children in this manner at a young age so that it becomes a habit.
Why It's Important To Say "Excuse Me"
We can use the phrase "pardon me" in a variety of contexts. Whether it's an unintentional run-in with someone or an urgent need to interrupt an adult when they're busy with something else, we've all been there. A simple "excuse me" can help to diffuse the situation and ensure that we come off as courteous.
Those "Words of Magic"
As children, we were all taught that the magic words "please" and "thank you" can make a huge impact. Aren't we all in agreement that it does? Teach your children to say "please" before making a request and "thank you" shortly after receiving assistance. When it comes to these magic words, there is no such thing as "too many times."
