For some few weeks now, some Kenyans have been complaining that they could not access the Linda mama program that is intended to cater for free maternity services to women. This led to some bloggers accusing the president of allegedly doing away with the initiative that had been launched during president Uhuru's tenure.
The NHIF body has come out to clear the claims and has set the record straight through a public alert notice. It has regarded the messages going round on social media purpoting discontinuity of the Linda mama services to be false and that pregnant women are still enjoying the maternity services.
"Attention is drawn to recent false social messages purpoting the discontinuity of the government funded linda mama program.NHIF wishes to assure the public that the cover is still active and mothers continue to benefit massively," the statement partly read.
The notification alert by NHIF will now put down to rest the claims and misinformation that had been propagated by some busy bodies on social media.
