Postinor-2 is an emergency contraceptive commonly used by ladies and women to prevent unplanned pregnancy which should be taken within 72 hours after an unprotected intercourse.However,it is not intended as a regular method of contraception.
It is one of the most popular method of emergency contraception and does not have serious side effects though some ladies or women reports changes in their menstrual cycle from heavy bleeding (in few cases) to spots or light bleeding which may occur before the onset of normal cycle.
It works by delaying or preventing ovulation by interfering with the passage of sperms by making vaginal mucus thick thus cannot meet with the ovum.
However questions have been raised if the pill can cause infertility.The answer is no.Postinor-2 cannot cause infertility and will not affect future pregancies incase one have plans to have children in future.
