Parents of Jackton Speaks Out, Says They Can't Defend Their Kids, Urges Police To Do Their Work

Jackton Odhiambo, the man most suspected of killing gay rights activist Edwin Chiloba, makes a public statement.

Yesterday's interviews with Jacktone Odhiambo's friends and family painted a picture of an obedient man who was raised in a Christian household.

They added that Odhiambo's father is the chairperson of the Nyumba Kumi project and a well-respected clergyman in the Huruma district outside of Eldoret.

Parents claim they have no way to protect their children and are pleading with authorities to swiftly apprehend those responsible for the terrible murder of Edwin Chiloba.

We have no right as parents to defend them when they engage in criminal behavior. Investigators must do their job, they urged, and bring to justice all those involved in the activist's death.

Shortly after his capture, Jackton Odhiambo admitted to killing his lover, the LGBTQ activist and model Edwin Chiloba.

On January 6, 2023, police in Eldoret town arrested Mr. Odhiambo for his suspected involvement in Chiloba's violent killing.

Odhiambo told the police that learning that Chiloba had another lover was the final straw that pushed him over the edge and led to the murder.

Odhiambo's confession has led authorities to look into the possibility of a love triangle.
