Her name is Josephine Thitu Maundu Mutua. She holds a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from University of Nairobi, masters in public health from University of Washington and PhD in Pharmacy. She has worked as a pharmaceutical services specialist with over 17 years of experience in the field.
Josephine has flown to work from Kenya, United Arab Emirates, Austaralia and even United States of America. She is the director of a health consulting group called Afya Afrique and founder of Machakos Women Foundation that addresses health matters concerning women in the county.
Josephine is known to be the first wife of former Machakos county governor, Alfred Mutua. The duo wedded in a colourful wedding in the year 2000 at Nairobi Baptist church along Ngong road. They were blessed with three children but unfortunately, the relationship went sour and the two divorced in 2015 due to the claims that Mutua was in a relationship with Lilian Ng'ang'a.
