Gone are the days men used to nervously pace the halls of the maternity ward. Nowadays they're right alongside their labouring partners giving encouragement and back rubs.
According to a survey conducted by the website Baby Center, 93 percent of women have their partners in the delivery room and 43 percent says the guys were more helpful during the birth process than doctors, nurses or doulas.
According to Mulamwah the it wasn't easy. He had to give Carol Sonie back rubs for nine hours. He encouraged all men to be very supportive to their partners during labour.
" Haikuwa rahisi for both me and her. Nilisugua mgongo karibu nine hours Nonstop. Nikiacha tu kidogo napigwa na maneno mbaya sana. Men help your ladies sio rahisi."
