A 25 year old Malian woman has today given birth to nine babies, five girls and four boys . Halima Cisse gave birth to these healthy set of nonuplets through Caesarean Section on Tuesday according to Mali's Health Minister.
Halima's pregnancy was brought into the public's limelight when it was discovered that there was a possibility of her having a set of septuplets.So when she had 9 children it shocked the doctors too.
Her doctors had been concerned about her welfare and whether her babies would survive, this led to the Mali's government intervention.
After staying in an hospital in Bamako the decision was made to transfer her to Morocco where she gave birth to her bundles of joy five weeks later. Fanta Siby,who is the country's health Minister congratulated the medical teams for a job well done.
This is a rare occurrence in Africa and is considered a blessing.They are expected to travel back to home soon.
