The Only Human Body Part That Never Grows After Birth Till Death

Human development, the process of growth and change that takes place between birth and maturity.

Human growth is far from being a simple and uniform process of becoming taller or larger. As a child gets bigger, there are changes in shape and in tissue composition and distribution. In the newborn infant the head represents about a quarter of the total length; in the adult it represents about one-seventh.

Which body part doesn't grow after birth?

The only human body part that does not grow after birth is the ossicular chain, which is composed of three small bones and is located in the middle ear.

These bones are also the smallest lightest bones in the human body. Each bone is smaller than a grain of rice. The stapes is the smallest and is only 2.8 millimeters or 0.11 inch long.
