Deputy president William Ruto today visited Machakos county for an empowerment program in the county. The deputy president met traders and business people from the county. He is accompanied by various lawmakers from the region.
Speaking in the event, the deputy president indirectly blamed Raila Odinga for Jubilee's government failure. The deputy president accused the former prime minister for changing the government's priorities after his handshake with president Uhuru Kenyatta in 2018. He urged the ODM party leader to apologize to Kenyans.
The deputy president said that Jubilee government had a clear vision through their big four agenda. He further said that they anticipated to build houses, come up with universal healthcare program and invest in agriculture before the handshake. He accused the handshake partners for focusing on elective positions rather than the economy.
The deputy president was accompanied by various lawmakers allied to UDA party. Leaders present includes Machakos Town legislator Victor Munyaka, Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka, Kitui MP Nimrod Mbai and Mathira legislator Rigathi Gachagua. The leaders pledged to work together in the coming polls.
