With tensions developing between ODM leaders and governors following Raila Odinga's calls for anti-government protests, the political climate in Western Province has recently been hostile. The ODM camp is extremely anxious as a result of various governors in the area's refusal to attend the anti-government protests.
Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi made the point that governors didn't need to go to State House for help because the legislature had allotted enough money for county-level development programs.
The senator also emphasized how some elected officials prioritize their personal interests over that of their citizens.Wycliffe Oparanya, the deputy leader of the ODM, responded by calling the governors' actions dishonest and pointing out that the government was intimidating and threatening them. Everyone could see that these politicians prioritize themselves over the needs of the people.
Because of the disagreement between ODM and their local leaders, the people of Western Province are now in a difficult situation.
