KRA Announces Crucial News To The Public

KRA announces its intention to auction assorted items ranging from clothes, furniture, households, building materials among others whose importers have failed to pay duty within stipulated time so as to decongest port faculties and improve efficiency.

According to the report shared by the Kenya Revenue Authority, the auctions being conducted this year have been attributed to the increasing numbers of importers who have failed to pay for their imported goods as a result of Covid 19 pandemic.

However according to importers, the government should have considered giving them more time to clear the goods or offer them special rates during this pandemic period.

"A custom Public Auction will be held on Wednesday 29th September at ICDN, Mombasa Road, Customs warehouse number two. Therefore the items are open for viewing today and tomorrow." The Kenya Revenue Authority reveals.

Therefore the overall mandate of Kenya Revenue Authority is to assess, collect and account for all tax revenues in accordance with the written laws and specified provisions of the written laws.
