Nairobi Women Representative Esther Makena Passaris celebrated her mother's 77th birthday in style through a heartwarming message. Well, it is good to note that this is not the first time the Nairobi politician has proudly appreciated her mother
Back in the late 90's when President Daniel Toroitich arap Moi was seeking his re-election, Moi was introduced to a young Passaris. This was after Esther Passaris had won a tender to supply KANU's t-shirts countrywide more so to the youth all with an aim to make sure that Moi defended his seat
This saw President Moi to invite Passaris in State House so that they could pull a mighty strategy. Moi was amused by Passaris' influence and intelligence. After the meeting, Moi after learning that Passaris had to phone bought for Passaris one so that they could communicate
“I got my first mobile phone from him in 1997. In 1997 I was running a promotional company doing t-shirts and I got a tender to supply campaign t-shirts for the elections… It was a Motorola… really big. It looked like a walkie talkie and he said to Lukorio who worked at State House give her a mobile phone,” Esther Passaris confessed during a previous interview with Citizen TV
The elections came and President Moi was reelected back to office which made the President so happy. So as to show appreciation for the efforts by Passaris, she invited Passaris to come for the inauguration ceremony that was to be held at Nyayo Stadium whereby the President asked Passaris to come with one close person.
When this day reached, Passaris went to this ceremony with her beloved mother, who turned 77 years today. This saw Passaris with her mother to sit at the podium which had many African Presidents who had come to witness the swearing in of President Moi
