Kenyan politicians have often been criticized for making false promises to the electorate during the electioneering period and vanishing shortly after getting elected into office to serve in various positions.
Many vanish to Nairobi and make technical appearences here and there especially towards the end of their mandate. However, this does not seem to be the case for Kabuchai Constituency member of parliament Majimbo Kalasinga.
The newbie member of parliament who got elected into office few months ago following the death of area MP James Lusweti has received widespread praise from Kabuchai residents after doing a wonderful act.
Kalasinga has decided to reward an 89-year old granny who woke up in the morning to go and vote for him by building her a modern two-bedroom house to replace her old dilapidated one.
The woman identified as Clementina Namuyemba used to stay in a dilapidated house, used to sleep on the floor using old rags but the MP has not only built her a house but also gifted her a high density mattress, the first time the granny will use such quality bedding in her life.
The popular politician says that he was touched by the gesture and determination the granny showed to wake up early, travel for long distances with the help of a walking stick just to go and vote for him.
