Mbappe Shines As PSG Thrash Barcelona At Camp Nou
Kylian Mbappe has today proved his worth by scoring a hat-trick against La Liga giants Barcelona in a game that ended 4-1 in favour of the Ligue 1 giants PSG. Barcelona star Lionel Messi opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 27th minute that saw the La Liga giants take an early lead. It did not take quite a long time before the French international Kylian Mbape to equalize in the 32nd minute, firing a shot with his left foot straight to the far post leaving Ter Stegen confused.
At the 65th minute, Kylian Mbappe striked again to give PSG a lead. A cross from Marco Verratti was pushed away by Barcelona goalkeeper Ter Stegen straight into the feet of Mbappe who then striked it back in. In the 70th minute, PSG's Moise Kean scored a header from a free kick taken by Leandro Paredes to stretch the lead even further to 3-1.
Mbappe then closed the scoring at the 85th minute with a perfect finesse shot from a counterattack against Barcelona, with Julian Draxler, a substitute at the 73rd minute providing the assist. This enables PSG to secure their chances at the Champions league quarter finals as their chances of qualifying are high. Neymar and Di Maria missed the game due to injuries.
Meanwhile, Liverpool also thrashed Leipzig 2-0 at Puskas in Germany. Liverpool's Mohammed Salah opened the scoring in the 53rd minute from a blind pass from Leipzig defence. Sadio Mane stretched the lead by scoring another goal in the 58th minute to give the Premier league giants a 2-0 victory at Puskas Arwna stadium in Germany.
