Breaking News: Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji Attains Yet Another Landmark

Noordin Haji, the Director of Public Prosecutions, has been elected as the President of the Eastern Africa Association of Prosecutors (EAAP) during its 10th Annual General Meeting and Annual Conference in Kampala, Uganda. The EAAP is a regional body that aims to improve the standards of professional conduct and ethics for African prosecutors and promote the rule of law, fairness, impartiality, and respect for human rights while also enhancing regional cooperation to combat crime. As the newly elected President, Haji has pledged to advance innovative strategies to tackle transnational organized crime and improve collaboration and cooperation in the prosecution of crimes such as terrorism, corruption, cybercrime, and human trafficking. Haji expressed his gratitude to the members of the EAAP and pledged to strengthen regional cooperation in the prosecution of transnational organized crimes. The other elected officials include joint vice presidents from the DRC and Rwanda, a treasurer from Tanzania, a secretary general from Uganda, and a general counsel from Mozambique. In his acceptance speech, Haji affirmed his commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and fulfilling the objectives of the Association.
