Bungoma County Set To Receives Ksh 2.35Billion Towards Climate Change Mitigation And Adaptation

Bungoma county set to receive a tune of Ksh 2.35 billion from world Bank towards climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Speaking during the consultative meeting with Anglican development services (ADS) led by Bishop George Mechumo,Governor Lusaka thanked ADS for having palyed a critical role in the formulation of the climate Change bill 2022.

"Our partners including the Anglican development services (ADS) played a critical role during the formulation of the climate change bill 2022 that was passed by the county Assembly of Bungoma,

"I am grateful that they have stretched their partnership with us in setting up the 11 ward committees that will facilitate each Bungoma ward in receiving it's share of Ksh 50 Million", stated Governor Lusaka.

The county boss said that his government has put measures in order to continue partnering with those partners to realize development in the county.

"My government looks forward to widening our partnership with ADC in poultry and dairy farming and increase of forest cover in Bungoma", noted Lusaka.

Increased temperature,drought and water stress, diseases and weather extremes create challenges for the farmers and ranches.

Human farm workers ,can suffer from heat-related health issues,like exhaustion ,heatstroke and heat attacks.
