Everyone who wants to buy a car has a number of reasons why they have to do so. Most people look for reliability in a car. Not everyone is about comfortable or flashy cars. For most people , reliability is a key factor when purchasing a car. Cars from Japan have always been praised for being some of the most reliable units on the planet. This is almost true. There are some unreliable Japanese cars. This article focusses on some Japanese cars that have proved to be unreliable at some point in time. Here is the list:
Most people have an assumption that the Nissan Note is an unreliable car. This is not the case. Not all Nissan Note cars are bad. The versions of this car manufactured between January 2013 to July 2013 are the ones you should stay away from. There are very high chances that this cars could be having an engine problem, gearbox problem or transmission problem. You should also avoid Nissan Note cars manufactured between March 2014 and May 2014. As you can see there are good Nissan Note cars in the market. Just check the year and month of manufacture and research on possible issues and you will be almost sure about the reliability of the car you are buying.
There is no perfect car manufacturer. The Toyota Fielder is an excellent car that is famed for stellar reliability and performance. The Fielder with an 1800cc engine and a CVT transmission is one version that has reliability issues. Avoid Fielders manufactured between June 2012 and May 2013. You should also avoid the batch of Fielders manufactured between February 2014 and May 2014. Although recalls for defective Toyota cars are usually done, you cannot be sure whether all the defective vehicles were returned to the manufacturer for repair. There are also very few expert CVT mechanics in East Africa. If you have a car with a CVT issue, you will have a hard time finding an expert to repair it.
This is another car from Nissan that has had its reputation tarnished by people who do not know much about cars. Not all Nissan Jukes are bad. The units that have issues are the ones that were manufactured in June 2012, February 2013 and June 2014. These cars are most likely to have turbo charger issues, gearbox issues and CVT issues.
These car has been the talk of town for a while. People have been decrying the reliability of the diesel versions of this car. You should avoid the earlier versions of the Mazda CX-5 and buy the latest versions. In order to stay safe , just go for the units with petrol engines. In my own opinion, the diesel versions are considered unreliable because most people do not know how to maintain cars with diesel engines. What do you think?
