According to recent opinion polls, Deputy President William Ruto's nomination, His Excellency Hamisi Mwaguya, is following in the footsteps of the Mombasa Senate in the run-up to the general election this year.
According to a recent poll conducted by Mizani Africa, Mohammed Faki, the ODM Senator in charge, is the most popular, receiving 35% of the vote. With 25.4 percent, UDA's Hamisi Mwaguya is in second position.
If Kenya's second prime minister, William Ruto, is to gain any seats in the area in the August 9 elections, he will have to work hard in Mombasa.
Raila Odinga's ODM has taken control of Mombasa County ahead of the general elections this year. Can they maintain control of the region before the general election this year?
Honorable. Mohammed Faki must now decide whether or not to run for re-election in the months ahead.
