A Gun That Went Missing Two Years Ago After A Cop Committed Suicide Finally Recovered By Detectives

Security Officers in Kirinyaga East Constituency have seized a firearm and 19 rounds of ammunition that got lost some two years ago.

The firearm 9 ( a CZ scorpion) was seized at Thiba Dam whose construction just concluded recently.

Anthony Ambogo, the Kirinyaga East Constituency Security Boss, confirmed the incident noting that the gun was reported missing in March 2020 after the security officer attached to guide the dam committed suicide.

Mbogo noted that the firearm was discovered by those working at the dam after one of the tributaries of River Thiba was blocked to begin pumping water into the said dam.

At first those working at the dam thought it was a fish but later when they took a closer look, they discovered that it was indeed a rifle.

The workers then made an immediate alert to the security officers who had accompanied the National Irrigation Authority CEO in launching the impounding of the water.

"We are indeed happy that after a long period of two years, the firearm did not fall under the wrong hands who could use it to terrorise the residents of the country and beyond." the Security Commander noted.
