Most Adventurous Road In Kenya (photos)

Iten-Kabarnet road is one of the most frightening routes to passengers in Kenya. The road passes through meanders, steep cliffs hills, escarpments and valleys. Growth of Kabarnet Town forced the government to tarmac the road and It stretches about 89 km from Kabarnet all the way to Eldoret town.

The late president Daniel Arap Moi plaid a major role on the establishment of the route. Being his home county, president Moi improved public services at the town by building national school (kabarnet high school), hospital (kabarnet level 5 hospital) and deployment of security personnel.

It took engineers long time to come up with the design due to poor terrains along the way. At the beginning, the design looked unrealistic but the idea worked perfectly latter.

The lowest point is about 1100 meters and the highest is about 2600 meters above the sea level. Drivers are always advised to drive at low speed and with caution. Any slight mistake might lead to serious injuries.
