His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta has remained ardent throughout his reigning days as he looks forward to flank his legacy as per the promises he had given Kenyans earlier. With the normal emerging issues both negative and positive in the country, the first in command has been observed to be stepping forward stoically in several occasions and address them amicably.
He has now surprised Kenyans with another big announcement today, September 29th as he addresses key issues concerning electricity. Over the past months, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) and other energy organizations struck Kenyans with higher price figures of electricity.
With the strains in the power supply prices that were really cumbersome for a large population of Kenyans to afford for quite a long period, President Uhuru has now announced a new order to the presidential taskforce demanding for the reduction of electricity prices. As NTV Kenya confirms, the above directive is expected to be adhered to and prices of electricity lowered late by December 25th this year.
Kenyans online seem to have different opinions over President Uhuru's surprise announcement. A section of them have argued that the prices of fuel were supposed to be looked upon as the number one problem affecting most Kenyans rather than electricity. Others have bounced back with congratulatory remarks as they appreciate him.
