While on his two days tour of Nyeri county, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga scheduled two different meetings today. The first was at the Kabiruini Grounds where he met Kikuyu elders and another was with Nyeri youth.
Representing the Nyeri Youth Advisory Council was Chairman Stephen Wanyoike, who gave Raila Odinga a document which contained 15 demands from them, if he wants their support for the forthcoming General Elections.

The demands were that Raila promises to do the following for them;
1.Creating incubation centres in each constituency.
2.Create a youth resource centre in each ward.
3.Establish youth talent academies.
4.Promote sports by establishing a football and volleyball academy in Nyeri county.
5.Start an apprenticeship program to support atleast 10,000 youths from Nyeri county.
6.Ensure establishment of mechanisms for creation of infrastructure to protect youth talents.
7.Start Constituency sensitisation platform for agribusiness programs.
8.Ensure the appointment of youths into government jobs.
9.Provide youths with access to niche markets.
10.Ensure youths can access funding for enterprises.
11.Provide 7 years tax break for businesses operated by the youth.
12.Support youth welfare, both mental and physical.
13.Design and establish rehabilitation centres.
14.Establish a national youth commission.
15.Involve youths in activities that promote volunteerism and community service.
Raila Odinga had also received similar demands from Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, who demanded that he tells the Nyeri people exactly how his presidency will be of benefit to them.
