Kenyans are eagerly awaiting to see what will happen on Monday 20th March if the Azimio party leader will lead a mass demonstration to state house to undead president Ruto from office for failing to reduce the cost of living in the county. Several organizations including church leaders, Muslim leaders and even members of ODM party have been urging Raila to call off the planned mass action.
Well, COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli on Saturday, March 18, called for an amicable truce between the government and the opposition leader Raila Odinga as the country prepares for protests scheduled for Monday, March 20. According to the statement issued by the deputy secretary general, Benson Okwaro, Atwoli exhorted dialogue between President Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as the antidote to the rising political temperatures.
Atwoli also cautioned its members against absconding from work on the demo day since it is not a public holiday. Earlier on Odinga had announced the the day of mass action would be a holiday something that was condemned by Kenya Kwanza.
