The decomposing body of Mr Patrick Njeru, 40, was found hanging on tree on the wee hours of the morning.
The deceased prior to his death was a school principal at a local secondary school in Kirinyaga County.
Residents who were going to their daily chores at 7am found the body dangling with a rope and reported the matter to Wang'uru Police Station.
Cases of suicide have been on the rise in the location lately and hardly a month passes without a case reported.
Kirinyaga County police commander confirmed the incident saying investigations are underway.
He attributed the incident to depression and asked locals to seek assistance of counsellors to avoid such deaths in future.
Patrick was described as a very hard working and generous man.
Police officers who visited the scene transferred the body of the deceased to the hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
This development comes barely days when a 55-year-old businessman was also found dead inside his house.
