Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has congratulated Wiper candidate Agnes Kavindu for clinching the Machakos senatorial seat in the just concluded by-election.
Murkomen in a tweet also congratulated the United Democratic Alliance candidate Urbanus Muthama Ngengele for what he termed as a good fight.
The vibrant senator said that it was a great show for Ngengele since he was a first-timer in a new party.
"Congratulations Agnes Kavindu Muthama on your election as the Senator of Machakos.Welcome to Senate.Congratulations to my friend Urbanus Muthama Ngengele (UDA) with the whole team led by Senator Muthama for putting up a good fight. Great show for a first-timer in a new Party," wrote Murkomen.
Kavindu has since been declared the winner where she got 104,080 votes followed by Ngengele who had 19,705 votes.
Ngengele has since conceded defeat stating that the elections gave him experience which he will use in 2022.
He promised to give his competitors in 2022 a run for their money since he won't be a beginner anymore.
"I was what they call fresher, a beginner I have never done county politics. Everyone now knows me even kids they know Ngengele, I want to tell my competitors in 2022 that they will find me ready," he said.
