Uasin Gishu County Women Representative Gladys Shollei has called out President Uhuru Kenyatta over the Jubilee Party purge that has so far left several casualties.
Murang'a Senator Irungu Kangata is the latest casualty following his Tuesday ouster as Senate Majority Whip after many weeks of a protracted battle with Uhuru's men.
However, Kangata's ouster has not gone well with Shollei who is now accusing Uhuru of intolerance and being dictatorial.
While speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Shollei, a key ally of the Deputy President William Ruto, asked the President to allow Jubilee Party members to freely express themselves instead of gagging them using punitive means.
" I think it was unfair to de-whip Irungu Kangata... We have a party leader who is so intolerant and such a dictator who doesn't want to hear any other person's views," Shollei claimed.
The Kangata ouster continues to elicit mixed reactions with the frosty relationship between the President and his deputy playing out.
The DP's faction has taken the President head-on. However, Uhuru has responded by cracking the whip, ousting Ruto allies from powerful leadership positions in both Houses of Parliament; the Senate and National Assembly.
