Those Thinking Kisii Will Vote For Raila Finally Get Their Answer, Told Who Will Get The Vote

As the presidential election of next year approaches, Deputy President William Ruto's allies in the region claim that the Gusii region is his to take.

The region is one that the DP has been eyeing as a way to improve his chances of winning, despite the fact that it appears to be one of the strongholds of his main opponent, ODM party leader Raila Odinga.

However, Japheth Nyakundi, the Coordinator of his (Ruto) UDA party in the entire region, claims that the people of Gusii have decided on Ruto and are willing to assist him in securing the top seat and succeeding Uhuru Kenyatta.

He has stated that it is for this reason that they are working around the clock to ensure that all available votes are shepherded into the DP's ballot and that he maximizes his support there.

"It is already clear that the people of Kisii want to work with DP Ruto, and as a result, we will work around the clock to ensure that the votes are delivered," he told the People Daily.

According to him, the growing support can be seen in the large number of aspirants vying for seats on the UDA party and the large number of area residents registering as UDA party members.

Mr Nyakundi told the paper that aspirants are flocking to seek their preferred seats on the party's ticket because the UDA promises free and fair nominations.

However, his claims that the region supports Ruto come just weeks after Raila's troops in the region, led by Kisii Governor James Ongwae and Senator Sam Ongeri, stated their support for his presidential bid.
