Al Ahly Sports Club are the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) representatives at the FIFA 2020 Club World Cup tournament that is taking place in Qatar. The Egyptian club got the ticket to represent the continent after beating rivals Zamalek 2-1 to win CAF Champions League trophy last season.

With the Thursday's 1-0 victory over Al Duhail of Qatar, Pitso Mosimane's side will face reigning UEFA champions Bayern Munich in the semifinal match that will be played on Monday 8th February 2021.
Al Ahly's goal came in the 30th minute through Hussein El Shahat and had Walter Bwalya's 38th minute strike ruled out for offside after VAR review.
The second semifinal will see Palmeiras from Brazil face UANL Tigres of Mexico. UANL Tigres beat Ulsan Hyundai in the first match played earlier in the day.

The tournament brings together 6 clubs which won their respective continental championships and the host nation's league champions. This year's tournament was supposed to be held in 2020 but was postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic as some of the member confederations did not have representation by then.
Liverpool won last season's tournament. Auckland City from New Zealand withdrew from the tournament because of Coronavirus restrictions in their country.
