Vihiga Governor, Wilberforce Otichillo, has openly dismissed Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga's, claims that his defeat in the last polls was due to electoral malpractice. Otichillo said that Odinga had no one but himself to blame for the loss since he failed to post agents in all polling stations, leading to his failure to clinch the presidency.
According to Otichillo, Odinga relied on agents posted by MPs, MCAs, Governors, and Senators, whereas he had no presidential agents in all polling stations. The governor cited the rift valley and central areas as examples where Odinga failed to place his agents, leading to a terrible loss in those areas.
Otichillo, who spoke to the press on Sunday in his office after returning from Nairobi, is one of the eight governors who snubbed the people's Baraza organized by the Azimio Coalition across the country.
Furthermore, the governor stated that he could not join the bandwagon of those chastising the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for malpractice since the same body declared him duly elected as governor.
