Constitutional and governance Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru, has blasted Deputy President Dr William Ruto's ally that's Kimilili Member of Parliament Hon Didmus Barasa, for accusing ODM party for interfering with the functioning of government by taking over important committee leadership in Parliament after the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking on an interview with TV47, Njiru said that there's no opposition and government allied Members of Parliament according to the current constitution, all the members of Parliament are elected to provide oversight to the government on behalf of their electorates irrespective of their political affiliations.
There's only the majority and minority sides and their roles are currently intertwined there's no clear distinction of which side is in opposition and in government. Hence there's no way the Deputy President Dr William Ruto's allies can claim that the opposition has entered into jubilee government, that's why the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) was proposing the special opposition department which will not be in government.
